Information You Send
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is submitted to the outside provider that supplies results. Winona Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those queries on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the information in the message and use it only to respond or address the request.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems create routine logs, including an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use aggregated information to maintain the service and understand which reference pages are useful. Cookies or related tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement when applicable.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the service, troubleshoot it, measure traffic, answer messages, and improve reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
Outside Links and Searches
Links lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search services. Those organizations control the information submitted on their own pages and their privacy terms apply there. The same is true of sponsored search results supplied by another company.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Hosting and support providers process logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic technical data described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure and otherwise do not share it beyond these service functions.
Safeguards and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. There are no visitor accounts, passwords, or account profiles maintained by Winona Residents Directory.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor provided information to us, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Minnesota’s Consumer Data Privacy Act, Minn. Stat. ch. 325M, gives qualifying consumers rights concerning covered entities and data practices, subject to its exemptions and thresholds. Because this service keeps very little visitor information, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and server logs, then deleting applicable material. Use the Contact page to make a request. Public records held by Minnesota, Winona County, or City of Winona custodians are outside our control and must be addressed to the office that holds them.
